Colorado is the newest state to start using the nationwide SAFE mortgage loan originator test, bringing the total number to 51 state agencies. When the test was first made available in 2013, only 26 state agencies joined in. The test combines both the national and state testing requirements of the SAFE Act and streamlines the license application process for MLOs seeking licenses in multiple states.
