Congressman known as mortgage relief pioneer indicted on federal corruption charges

A U.S. Congressman who was once at the forefront of the government’s post-crisis mortgage relief efforts is now facing federal corruption charges for allegedly misappropriating hundreds of thousands of dollars of federal, charitable and campaign funds.

  1. If this is the same Preston Byrd that attended New Growth in Christ Christian Center in Memphis, TN, then he is a thief. He personally stole $5,000 from me and my husband under the guise that he was investing it for us in a Swiss Bank. After repeated emails, etc. to Mr. Byrd, he never made good on his promise to return our money. The Swiss Bank investment failed.
